STATE PRAYER LEADER NEEDED See Our Map...
Our purpose is to call people to pray for all those in authority

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Welcome and thank you for your interest...

State Prayer Leaders hold weekly one hour statewide prayer conference calls and also participate in a one hour national prayer call weekly. The State Prayer Leader is encouraged to invite guest Prayer Leaders from the various prayer ministries across their state to participate in their statewide prayer calls (Every joint has something to supply). Each guest Prayer Leader is encouraged to invite those from their networks to participate in the call as well. This offers the cross pollination of prayer focuses and resources.

State Prayer Leaders are also encouraged to raise up county Prayer leaders for each county seat (or Borough & Parish) in their state. County Prayer Leaders are encouraged to raise up City and Town Prayer leaders and so on. Each holds conference calls or small groups of prayer lifting up all those in authority.

We are also very supportive of special projects and programs developed by our state leaders. That would include things like prayer gatherings or prayer walks in or around state capitals or county courthouses. Another example is sponsored bible studies led by State Prayer Leaders, recruited pastors or laypeople taking place in business or government offices. We have also been involved in the reestablishment of chapels and places of worship in our state capitals and county court house buildings.

This is about an 8 hour a week commitment for those not already involved in prayer mobilization or leading others to pray. Two of those hours are spent on prayer calls and the rest is time used networking with the body, preparing for a special outreach or prayer focus like the ones I mentioned above.

Through these efforts we encourage networks of prayer in all of our nation’s

3,140 counties, establishing leaders of prayer and centering in on a 1 Tim 2:1-6 focus of intercession.

In our search for statewide ministry leadership we have been blessed to run across existing ministries and ministry leaders on a similar path and focus to our own and we have been honored to come alongside them in our ministry efforts. Some good examples of this are WI, IL, and  OR. In Wisconsin we have Steven Springer of www.AdvanceK.com an IHOP affiliate. In Illinois there are Pastors Stan and Delbra Pratt. They have a church and also lead as IL State Leaders in the National Day of Prayer. In Oregon we have Pastor Aaron Auer of www.RoarOregon.org. Still others have simply had a mantle for bringing different prayer groups together.

Rev. Walker explains how this ministry began:

I had been a part of the prayer mobilization movement for 15 years. I started out as an event coordinator for the National Day of Prayer Task Force in Western PA (Erie). Five years later when I moved to the Indianapolis area I accepted the role of Indiana State Coordinator, a position I am humbled to still lead in today. For these 15+ years my personal prayer focus has been based around 1Timothy 2:1-6. As I spent two sessions ministering to the Indiana State Assembly establishing bible studies and outreach to leaders and staffers, the Lord stirred in me the specific approach to praying for leaders and all those in authority.

To begin at a common focal point in the mind’s eye, at first it appeared as a lightning rod… the Governor. This point quickly dispersed down to the neighborhood level as the intercessors prayed for those leaders geographically closest to them and then by applying feet to their prayer in taking action in the form of simple acts of kindness and home bible study groups.

Months later (Nov. 2004) a new Governor was elected to our state and I received a call from one of his staff simply asking if I was the guy or if I knew someone who could offer an ongoing prayer covering for the Governor. We all met a few days later to establish a relationship and to actually continue something that had already begun for him just as we had done for the previous office holder.

Weeks later we had a revelation. While our Governor and his staff were attending the National Governors’ Conference someone on his staff had shared with the other Governors’ staffers that a prayer team had been established for them. They told of the blessings that the prayer team’s intercession had brought to them and to their state. The surprise came later that same day when our office phone began to ring with requests for similar teams in other states. Admittedly I found myself feeling a bit reluctant about being in the midst of a nationwide ministry being born in front of my very eyes. I was simply trying to do the right thing for my state and its leaders. This website that you are reading from stands as a testimony as to what transpired that day and has since followed.

Consider joining this cause that is simply driven by God's instruction on worship found in 1 Tim 2:1-6.

1 Timothy 2:1-6

Instructions on Worship

1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.

May the Lord Bless you and all those you love,
